A lack of face to face interaction in our screen focussed society is leading us into communication poverty

"In contrast, a live storyteller sitting with children offers the rich nuances of voice, intonation, eye contact, gestures, facial expression, body language, emotional response and soul warmth" Jennifer M. Gidley PhD. Educator, Psychologist and Futurist.

Testimonials

Helen at Karis Elderly Befriending Scheme

“Anna has a real strength in relating with people from different backgrounds and cultures, being sensitive to their vulnerability and needs. She is very able to engage with people at their level. Her creative approach has been really helpful to us as a project. Her work has helped increase our client’s confidence and empowered them to be more actively involved.”

Parents at a Parent Storytelling Workshop

“Mind blowing! Really engaging, participatory way of involving children. Fab!”

“Showed me the importance of listening to and valuing my child”

“Encouraged me to use my own ideas and imagination”

PreSchool Teacher, Selly Oak Nursery School

“The story helped the children to understand the difference between ‘work’ and ‘play’; It was a fantastic way of illustrating the joy of playing. The children responded so well to teaching the giant how to play, with suggestions like “come and lie in the sand”. It was AMAZING! It was so wonderful to see the children laughing so much!”

Emily, International Bomber Command Centre

"Anna’s enthusiasm was infectious- making all the  staff and volunteers taking part feel at ease as they stepped out of their comfort zone and into the magical world of storytelling. The story we created has been a great success- particularly with KS1 pupils and visiting families. The IBCC would not hesitate  to recommend Anna to any heritage sites looking to find a new way to engage with younger audiences!"

Child and Teacher, The Oaks Primary

“It was awesome. She is the best storyteller!”

“Fantastic delivery. Very age appropriate. Links perfectly with our topic. The children were very engaged and enthused throughout. Great stuff – thank you!”

Year 3 Teacher, Colwall Primary School.

"Everyone, staff and pupils, enjoyed the highly interactive performance of Jason and the Argonauts. You brought the story alive and made it accessible for all the children regardless of their year group. The class really enjoyed the workshop session and you gave us lots of ideas - your input was invaluable!"
